Volunteers In Progress

Volunteers In Progress or VIP is a weekly camp for teens and adults with high functioning disabilities that are interested in developing self-confidence, leadership skills, communication skills to better prepare for a volunteer or paid work position. VIP campers will have the opportunity to engage in a supervised and structured camp experience where they will assist Activity Leaders in facilitating camp activities, organizing campers, and preparing activity areas for new camp groups.

The VIPs will also spend part of their camp day enjoying the fun of summer camp while enjoying the pool, sports, archery and more. On Thursdays, VIP campers that have exhibited appropriate and responsible behaviors will enjoy a field trip off campus to a local organization where they will learn about volunteer and job opportunities that they can pursue after camp. All camp activities and trips will focus on teamwork, communication, and social skills.

Campers are provided supports depending on their individual needs and are supported by our trained, professional staff in a 1:4 or 1:5, camper to counselor ratio.
