Working Student Opportunities

Working students gain hands on horse experience from experienced equine professionals. We love sharing our knowledge of taking care of our Therapeutic Herd. This volunteer position meets high school volunteer requirements. We will work with your school to meet their requirements for a non-paid internships and senior class projects. Working student hours are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, after school to early evening. It is expected that these students will help with camps during school vacations and summer break where their schedule allows.

Working students will help with chores, animal care, and barn maintenance. This includes: feeding and turn out, cleaning and refilling water buckets, mucking out stalls and paddocks, dropping and stacking hay bales, grooming and working horses both under saddle and on the ground.

Interested students need to be at least 14 years old, have reliable transportation, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. They should have prior riding experience at the walk, trot, and canter at the advanced beginner level at minimum. Interested students must also be able to groom and tack using both English and Western saddles.
