Anita Howards

Anita joined The Bridge Center in 2006 to provide professional financial management to our organization.  Before joining our staff, she served as a financial consultant to numerous small to mid-size companies and as an operations manager for a clothing manufacturer.  Anita also brings a background in human services.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Ohio State University and spent several years developing social programs for young professionals and older adults.  Anita’s most treasured role is in being a mom to her three kids.

Karen has been involved with The Bridge Center since the early 1980s, first as a volunteer and now as a full-time staff member.  She has served The Bridge Center in every possible way, from providing direct services for our children to overseeing the office operations.  No matter the role, Karen’s favorite moments come from seeing joy on the children’s faces.  In her spare time Karen enjoys knitting and spending time with her family.

Spencer is recognized on the The Bridge Center campus for the past six years as one of our great Summer Counselors.  Working with children and adults with special needs is her passion and for five years, she has also volunteered in life-skills classrooms. Spencer graduated in 2012 from Bridgewater State University, with a Bachelors in Psychology.

Sarah Norris

Sarah has seen the The Bridge Center facility and programs grow tremendously since first joining the riding center in 1996.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, with a concentration in Motor Development Therapy from Bridgewater State College and in the year 2000 became certified through PATH International to teach therapeutic horseback riding.  Sarah expanded her PATH certification to teach therapeutic carriage driving, allowing The Bridge Center to offer this program to clients (and giving Banner, our miniature horse, an important job!).  Outside of work, Sarah enjoys quilting and spending time with her husband and their new son.

Judy Johnson

Judy joined The Bridge Center as a volunteer in 2007 after semi-retiring from work as a Production Manager for a large metro newspaper. She has extensive experience working with children and life long passion for horses. She has worked as a summer counselor for children with disabilities and also in an after-school program serving children grades K through 6. Judy is horse owner of more than 25 years and has enjoyed eventing, camping and team penning with her horses.  In her spare time, Judy enjoys photography, caring for her two horses and being shadowed by Sophie, her Bernese Mountain Dog.

Becky Guillotte

Becky brings to The Bridge Center a range of experience in horse care, riding instruction, and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.   While she received a degree in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, her involvement with equestrianism has been a major theme of her work. Becky is a licensed MA instructor, certified PATH International Instructor and an accomplished Dressage competitor.

Kevin Eardley

Kevin has been a rider and horse owner for the past 20 years, and has worked in therapeutic riding industry since 2001. Kevin is a certified PATH International instructor, as well as a licensed MA instructor and grew up riding hunter jumper. Over the years Kevin has taught and managed therapeutic riding programs for special needschildren and adults  with a wide range of disabilities.   Combining his love for children, and passion for horses, he takes pride in helping people.  In his spare time aside from riding, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to movies, concerts and doing outdoor activities.

Laurie Kalivas

Laurie is responsible for coordinating the Registration Process at The Bridge Center.  Laurie has been part of the Bridge Center Family since 2005 when she enrolled her son Zachary in horseback riding lessons.  Laurie started with us as a volunteer at the barn and joined the staff in March of 2009.

Miriam Scrivener

Miriam was born in Patagonia, Argentina and came to the U.S. in 1987 as a Fulbright Scholar to pursue graduate studies in History at the University of Connecticut.  Her diverse professional experiences includes work as a high school history teacher, university lecturer, and as a research assistant. Teaching and research continue to be two of her favorite activities and as the mother of two children with special needs, she continuously employs these skills to find resources and information useful to her family and to others.   When she’s away from The Bridge Center,  Miriam loves reading, cooking, beading, and spending time with her family.
