Summer Camp at The Bridge Center offers incredible opportunities for children, teens, and young adults to enjoy recreational and skill building activities in a supportive and nurturing environment that is accessible to all. We offer a wide variety of programs to meet their interests and needs, and our professionally trained staff ensure that everyone in attendance is engaged, having fun and making friends!
Camp Connect is a 6-week summer camp designed to meet the developmental, social, and behavioral needs of children with Asperger's Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, and related disorders. Camp Connect offers traditional recreational camp activities such as swimming, archery, and horsebackriding as well as therapeutic activities such as team-bulding exercises and social skills groups. These activites are designed to promote communication and socialization skills and are adaptable to meet individual goals outlined in a child's IEP. Children are carefully placed in small clinically-sound groups to enhance their experience. As with all our camps, friendship and fun are core elements of all activities.
Camp Summit creates opportunities for success among children who struggle with severe behavioral challenges. Our trained counselors provide a positive behavioral system that creates structure for children who have struggled or failed at other camps due to behavioral issues. Counselors work closely with campers in a safe and supportive environment to build and reinforce positive responses and our low camper to counselor ratios allows each camper to receive the coaching they need to build self-confidence, be successful, and enjoy a summer camp experience that is safe and fun for everyone.
Camp Discover is open to all children with special needs regardless of the nature or severity of their disabilities. Campers enjoy therapeutic recreation and traditional playtime in an accepting environment that is fun and accessible to all. Throughout each 2-week session, campers will have opportunities to make friends while growing more confident and more successful in skill building acitivities. Campers are provided limited, extensive or pervasive supports depending on their individual needs and are placed in groups following a careful assessment by our trained professional staff.
Horse Camp is designed for campers who love horses! Our state-of-the-art Riding Center offers a full slate of fun and educational acitivites. Acitvities include learning to groom, feed and care for a horse and one mounted riding lesson each day. Throughout the day, the group will remain together to enjoy other traditional camp acitivities such as swimming, arts and crafts, music and games!
